Android market is getting hotter day by day and decidedly crowded. Sony just announced a new Android tablet but still isn't cheap; it also brings a load of TV-ready features and a revamped Android 4.0 skin. This year’s it is called the Sony Xperia Tablet S. As you can see they’ve stuck with the folded-over design but this time it’s much slimmer and sleeker as a result, the Sony Xperia Tablet S feels lighter and still has that magazine feel when you hold it in your hands.
Sony also offers dozens of big and small change to the tablet. Xperia Tablet S comes in an aluminum shell with LCD screen size of (9.4-inches) also have anti-glare coating on its display and a splash-resistant (but not waterproof) coating all over, which means you can use the screen even your fingers are wet but resolution (1280 x 800) remains the same just like its previous version. This time Sony uses the NVIDIA Tegra 3 (quad core processor) single-core operations clocked at 1.3/1.4GHz with 16 to 64 Gigabytes of memory storage.
Sony Xperia Tablet S also comes with 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi supports, Bluetooth 3.0, a gyroscope, an accelerometer sensor, full-size SD card slot and an HDMI input. You'll also find a volume rocker, headphone jack, and the power/sleep button. This time Sony Xperia Tablet S comes with 8-megapixel rear camera with 1.3 megapixel camera in front.
But this time Sony hopes to garner increased consumer interest by incorporating remote control and macro functionality with their new tablet. The most interesting feature of this tablet is that it comes with remote control feature. This remote control feature in time Sony Xperia Tablet S is pre-installed which can act as a universal remote to control TVs, home stereos system, DVD and Blu-ray players and (Set Top Box)cable boxes, even whether they carry a Sony brand or not.
Another interesting software feature of Sony Xperia Tablet S touts is of multiple users’ modes. Where you have different customized windows for every user starting from wallpapers to home screen layouts etc. Because of which your friends and kids can enjoy a single tablet without snooping around your email and personal stuff. There is also “Small Apps” function that allows you to use one application in a small screen while continuing to use another main application. This Small Apps functionality includes a calculator, voice recorder, web browser, timer, and the IR remote.
Overall all these ergonomic wedge design and an integrated IR universal remote control make it unique and give you above and beyond the typical Android tablet experience, but it was bit pricey.
