We know that the Samsung's Galaxy Gear is much more barrier-pushing wristwatch with features like a voice dictation, phone calls, camera etc. But then again, it's also only compatible with limited Samsung devices such as (Galaxy S4, S4 Mini, S4 Zoom, and Mega 5.8-6.3).
Meanwhile Sony's newest SmartWatch2 is compatible with mostly all recent smartphones, as long as they run on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich or higher. Pairing up SmartWatch 2 is a breeze. It comes with NFC chip living inside, so all you have to touch one device on the other then a few confirmation buttons on your screen, and you're all set. But if your phone doesn’t have NFC capabilities you need to work harder, by searching compatible apps manually.
The SmartWatch 2 is remarkably thin and lighter. It has a depth of 9 mm and feels reasonably comfortable on your wrist. You can have text messages, emails (Gmail etc.), call log, calendar, Twitter®, Facebook® and can be used as a remote to take and make calls.
The Sony's newest SmartWatch2 has IP57 water and dust resistance rating, which means it, is waterproof till one meter (3.3 ft.) of water till 30 minutes. So even if it rains, you can keep on going, the SmartWatch 2 can take the rain.
As a final verdict package sounds good on paper, but we weren't particularly smitten by Sony's new Smart Accessories. But if you own an Android phone and are looking for convenient way to get notifications, then you can consider this.
The SmartWatch 2 is already available in Europe for £149 and in USA at 199.99$. Sony hasn't yet announced any releasing date or pricing info for India.
