Is LG Optimus 4X HD (Better than Galaxy 3 and HTC One X)

Over the last few years, mobile phones manufacturing that were once at the top are nowhere to be seen and others have risen to the helm. LG belongs firmly to the first category, as a company LG seems to have been trying a lot to come up with a successful high-end Android device The NEXT device launched by “LG Optimus Smartphone” is LG Optimus 4X HD.

LG Optimus 4X HD

At First Glance LG Optimus 4X HD has got angular, slab-like thin design is decent for a flagship model which looks good but it is still very plastic. LG Optimus 4X HD has a large 4.7-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS LCD display which delivers 470 nits of brightness which provides great colour reproduction and viewing angles and also use 70% less power than a regular LCD used in other Smartphone’s.

About camera “LG Optimus 4X HD” got 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera with an LED flash which is pretty good when it is concerned with quality of image and also have 1.3-megapixel front camera for video calling. But its software seems to loos when it comes to manual focus after every 2-3 seconds. So if you try to focus on an object, the phone will initially focus on that but switches to auto-focus which of course irritates you. But LG Optimus 4X camera supports Full-HD recording and also allows you to add funny background/ face effects during live recording.

Just like other Android android devices in the market its performance is up to the mark. LG Optimus 4X HD  comes with Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz SoC powerhouse(which gives you pretty much good experience while doing multi tasking ), 1GB of RAM, 16GB built-in storage (12GB user available), which can be expandable up to 32GB via a microSD card. Over all it is the best performance we have seen so far of any LG Android device and amongst the best across Android devices from any manufacturer.

Zync Tablet Z-909 Review

Recently I came across news one such low-cost Android tablet, dubbed ZYNC Pad Z909 made its way to our review labs. Priced at Rs.3,900. Let’s find out if the price is justified or the tablet comes with umpteen compromises.

ZYNC Pad Z909 front and back

Affordable Zync Pad Z909 runes on Android 2.2 and comes up with earphones, USB cable, meager stylus charger, cleaning cloth, case and a ScratchGuard (Screen Protector). It has 4GB of built-in memory, and expanded up to 16GB using the memory card. Mediocre design of zync pad z909 is made up of glossy plastic which is not at all good.

The ZYNC Pad Z909 is fuelled by an 800 MHz processor with 256 MB RAM. But there is only 144 MB RAM free for other application to run. This is surely not enough memory for running 90% of application in the android market. This low end tablet comes with annoyed restiveness touch which surely doesn't give you a great experience during browsing internet and photographs.

ZYNC Pad Z909 specification

It consists of front facing camera which is placed in left side. But it is of no use, you cannot use this camera for video call neither with skype or nor other with other software’s. Which make this camera of no use? Thus we found the overall score is very low…..

Pros :-

  • Cost is very low
  • Sufficient to run internet and watching movies.

Cons :-

  • It get hanged when we plug any USB dongle to run internet.
  • You cannot use front camera for video calling
  • They do not have service centre in many cities. So if it get hanged you cannot think of getting it reset or repaired even though you have a warranty
  • The touch response is very poor
  • Restiveness touch gives you poor user interference.
  • It is installed on Ubuntu or Linux so even you do not have option of either upgrading Android nor Skype for video call

Xperia ion front image, Xperia ion back image
Sony Xperia ion

Post a separation from Ericsson, Sony seems to be eyeing the Smartphone market with a new vigour and enthusiasm. Sony has recently launched a new Android device in the Indian market at an approximately price of 36999 Rs.

The Sony Xperia ion is technically a High-range offering but unlike most phones in its price range, the phone runs on a 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Dual Core processor. But does it actually offer better performance? Let’s find out

Sony Xperia ion followed after Xperia U and Xperia S and it is a pretty much high end device but it has a same design characteristics that is hard lines curved rear, weighty, very stream line over all a nice hand set but not quite attractive compare to HTC ONE X or Nokia lumia 900.

What you are going to like its 4.6 inches 720p HD reality display with Mobile BRAVIA® Engine with really good pixel (323 ppi) density for sharp details. Sony Xperia ion comes with a 12 MP camera (gives you 16x digital zoom) with auto focus, LED flash and with Exmor R CMOS sensor. With which you can shoots 1080p videos. 720p videos can also be shoot by its 1.3 megapixel Front-facing camera.

The HDMI connection also opens the Xperia ion's TV launcher, a customizable home screen carousel of application shortcuts by which a user can navigate the TV launcher. There are also dedicated buttons for Power, volume control and for camera.

When it come to type message in Xperia ion, its comes up with Scratch-resistant, shatter proof sheet on mineral glass Capacitive touch screen with on-screen QWERTY keyboard. You can also choose between 2 option of Xperia keyboard and Android keyboard with great response.

However Sony is known for its video and audio quality, but with this Xperia ion they gives a completely different and great user experience by its very different music player where you can brose between different music album with its album cover simultaneously with all controls on screen. It supports wider range of audio, video formats. Over all it’s a complete package of smart phone but currently it is coming with 2.3 Gingerbird OS. But let’s we can hope to see it soon coming upgraded version with 4.0 android.
